RocklandCAN Meeting, March 02

Our next open meeting of Rockland Citizens Action Network will be held at the New City Library on Thursday March 02 from 6:45 – 8:45pm. (See Events Calendar page.  Please RSVP)  We will continue discussing the Independent Democratic Caucus (IDC) its impact on the NY State Senate, and Sen. David Carlucci’s appearance at our last meeting. We will also continue with issue-related organizing and event planning through our Action Groups.

Political Reform –  Lobbying NYS Senate and Assembly to support A.G. Schneiderman’s Voting Rights Bill. Work will continue at the March 2nd meeting.
Democratic Committees – RocklandCAN seeks progressives to BE the grassroots by serving as Dem Committee members in all 5 towns – fill out this form to get more info from our team leader.
New York Health Act Workshop- Want to help pass universal health care in NY?  Attend RocklandCAN’s Workshop to learn how we as grassroots activists can move the legislation.  Sat., March 4th, 10 am-11:30 at the MLK Multipurpose Center in Spring Valley. Sign up for Workshop here.

Environment –  Volunteers are helping coordinate  two upcoming events; see Events Page.
Jobs – Interested in sustainable economy and jobs? Contact Donald at Lower Hudson Valley Progressive Action Network (our sister organization in Westchester).
Beyond Partisanship – Reach out to moderate Republicans and conservatives opposed to Trump to broaden resistance and support for the free press.
Education – New group examining policy and action in the current environment.
