Meeting: Thursday, Feb. 16

This Thursday’s RocklandCAN meeting is shaping up to be a very special event. In light of the fact that the Independent Democratic Caucus (IDC) in the New York State Senate has become a hot topic among Democrats and Progressives, we have invited Sen. David Carlucci to speak with us about the NY Senate and the politics of Albany. (We have been told our meeting is on his schedule, but we have not received definite confirmation.) We are anxious to discuss with him issues of concern to Rockland progressives, and to have the senator answer questions about the IDC’s alliance with Senate Republicans.

To make this a productive meeting, we’ve put together a collection of resources to help you become more informed about the IDC controversy, and have also provided a few tools for researching the legislative and campaign records of your elected representatives. We hope you’ll make use of these and come to our meeting with some seriously interesting questions, and a readiness to talk New York State politics.

See you Thursday!
