Approximately eighty people crowded the Nyack Library conference room on Thursday evening, coming together to discuss a variety of pressing issues such as the need for the NY Health Act, how to push back against President Trump’s unqualified and unacceptable appointees, and reversing his inhumane executive orders such as the travel ban aimed at citizens from select Muslim nations. A main focus throughout the evening was on strategies for making our local, state, and federal governments serve the interests of citizens rather than special interests, and how best to organize as a community group.
To everyone who attended on Thursday– thanks for your input and enthusiasm! We hope you’ll lend us a hand by sending us your suggestions for actions, information on events you want to publicize, and any news that you feel is important to share with members. We’re planning to hold our general meetings twice-monthly, and when we are able to secure a reasonable venue for the next one, we’ll make an announcement via email and add the event to our calendar page.
We’re looking forward to seeing you all again soon in about two weeks.
